- If the WordPerfect Program is on the
- hard drive, retrieve the WordPerfect
- Program by typing the following next
- to the C> prompt:

- CD\WP50 <Press Enter key>

- Then type WP <Press Enter key>

- A blank screen will appear. A flashing
- dash-mark will appear in the upper left
- hand corner. This is called the Cursor.
- You will always see the Cursor flashing
- on some part of the screen. The
- flashing Cursor is telling you that the
- Program (WP) is ready to accept some
- commands from you and put the computer
- to work.

- √√√ ELEVEN IMPORTANT KEYS
- WordPerfect uses many keys and key
- combinations. For our purpose we'll be
- using those keys listed below.

- ▀ F7 Exit key
- ▀ F7 N Y Exit from WordPerfect
- ▀ F7 N N Clear screen for writing a new document
- ▀ F10 Save document or replace document
- ▀ F10 Enter Y Save corrected document
- ▀ Ctrl + F2 Spell Check
- ▀ Alt + F1 Thesaurus
- ▀ Alt + F3 Reveal codes
- ▀ Alt + F4 Block command
- ▀ Alt + F9 Graphic command

- A FEW OF THE KEYS ARE DESCRIBED BELOW.

- √√√ ▀ HOW TO CLEAR THE SCREEN
- Clear screen by pressing <F7> N N.
- The <F7> key is the large Function key at
- the top of the keyboard.
- Press and release this key.
- Next, press the letter N twice. This will
- clear any text that may be on the screen.

- √√√ ▀ SPELL CHECK A DOCUMENT
- <Ctrl+F2>, then 3.

- √√√ ▀ SAVE A DOCUMENT TO THE HARD DISK
- Press <F10>. Type in name of document,
- then press the <Enter> key.

- √√√ ▀ MOVE SENTENCES AND PARAGRAPHS
- Block area to be moved by using
- Block command <Alt+F4>.
- Then use the Move command <Ctrl+F4>, then 1 1.
- to move blocked area to new location.

- √√√ ▀ PRINT A DOCUMENT
- The print command is <Shift+F7>.
- To print a document press and hold down
- the <Shift> key, then press the <F7>.
- Function key. Release both keys.
- Now Select, "to print all pages, or any
- particular page, or pages".
